Pimple me Timbers!

I always considered myself a lucky boy during adolescence. I never had any zits or pimples. But Mother Nature isn't kind, as we all know, therefor every now and then she surprises me with an unexpected pimple. Like today. Huge! White! In the corner of my mouth! So today I'm a 37 year old man trapped in the body of a 15 year old boy.

Clicking Socks

So I've reached the point that I started blogging about my socks. But hold on! These are not normal socks! These socks have superpowers! They don't get seperated while doing laundry because I can click them together with the superhandy sock snap!

Too bad for Peter he can't take them while travelling, because I think every alarm will go off at the airport and he needs to strip down to his bare feet before going through customs. So the socks will stay here. And I will wear them to Kylie tonight! I bet they impress her and overshadow that whole Bellagio-like stage of hers! Snap sock power!

Stereo Smoke Circles

Damn this guy is good. Smoking circles in stereo! I don't even know how to blow smoke circles in mono! Or maybe I've never really tried. On the bright side: my room is a lot tighter! And I don't smoke in the bedroom. Not even in the livingroom. Only in the office.

Let's Start at the Very Beginning

Oh joy! I got all our photo-albums out of the basement and some of them were there for over 4 years. From november 1974 to the early 00's, our lives captured in hundreds of photos. Later, when I got my digital cameras I stopped making albums, which is too bad.

So here you go. Whether you like it or not I am going to upload some shots from the past now and then. The picture above is me with my mom just after I was born in November 1974. And this is probably the last shot of me looking so seriously. Stay tuned for more.

Selfish Smelling

Oh, I love sundays like this. I smell so deliciously selfish! This scent always takes me back to the summer of 2000 when we toured the USA. It reminds me of endless walks up and down the Las Vegas strip!

CMYK

The CMYK color model, referred to as process color or four color, is a subtractive color model, used in color printing, also used to describe the printing process itself. CMYK refers to the four inks used in most color printing: cyan, magenta, yellow, and key black. Though it varies by print house, press operator, press manufacturer and press run, ink is typically applied in the order of the abbreviation.

The “K” in CMYK stands for key since in four-color printing cyan, magenta, and yellow printing plates are carefully keyed or aligned with the key of the black key plate. Some sources suggest that the “K” in CMYK comes from the last letter in "black" and was chosen because B already means blue. However, this explanation, though plausible and useful as a mnemonic, is incorrect.

The CMYK model works by partially or entirely masking certain colors on the typically white background (that is, absorbing particular wavelengths of light). Such a model is called subtractive because inks “subtract” brightness from white.

In additive color models such as RGB, white is the “additive” combination of all primary colored lights, while black is the absence of light. In the CMYK model, it is just the opposite: white is the natural color of the paper or other background, while black results from a full combination of colored inks. To save money on ink, and to produce deeper black tones, unsaturated and dark colors are produced by using black ink instead of the combination of cyan, magenta and yellow.

Happy Birthday BILLY

One of the most significant items in the ever growing IKEA catalogue celebrates its 30th birthday. The BILLY bookshelves were introduced in 1979 and are still one of the big sellers. I myself don't have a BILLY. I love IKEA, as you might or might not know, but BILLY is not a practical way to store big books on art or photography. BILLY just isn't deep enough, so I still go with BONDE. Anyway, happy birthday BILLY and I will definately buy your Birthday-Book!
