IKEA UPPLEVA

I am not a gadget-freak. Not at all. Happy with my one and only device, my iPhone. But I am really excited about this new line called UPPLEVA by IKEA. A completely new range that integrates smart TV and sound system with furniture! How cool is that! Not that our television set is such a messy place, but still, it can always be more tightened up! Too bad we have to wait another year before it hits the Dutch IKEA stores.

Fat David Statue

So this is how David would look like if he was a 21st century American. Nice job, mixing classic art with some fat ass. You can buy it here.

I'm Daan. I'm an Alcoholic.

Okay, maybe I'm not the only one who instantly thinks of 6 bottles of wine when looking at this 6pack for your bike. I hardly can imagine buying 6 bottles of milk, so yeah, 6 bottle of wine seems logic right? RIGHT? Yeah, thought so. I might be an alcoholic, but I will never admit to that, since that would be the first step to a life without alcohol. Cool product by the way, available at Donkey Products.

LEGO Patent Drawing

How cool is this Patent drawing for LEGO posted by Melissa Easton? Hard to imagine there was a time when kids didn't have LEGO to play with. I've placed a lot of posts on LEGO over the last years, some beautiful, some funny, but never so tot the point like this one. This is how it all started back in 1961.

Steve Jobs Action Figure

This one's for all the nerds out there who just can't say goodbye and who think the New iPad would have been much more improving when Steve Jobs was still alive. Now he's been immortalized into this 12" Action Figure. Look at those little hands holding that little iPhone! Looks a bit too real in the face to me, but I'm sure over the next decades this Action Figure will replace every Jesus-on-a-Cross in every building on earth. Mark my words!

Seppl by by Arvid Haeusser

Seppl is a porcelain espresso machine designed by Arvid Haeusser. And although I've been in love with our Jura coffeemaker for almost 10 years now, I have to admit that I could easily have a secret affair with this beauty!

Roadkill Toys

Look at these cuties! Look at their flat little bodies, their cute little guts, their beautiful marks on their backs, their eyes popping out of joy! Roadkill Toys are exactly like those cute bears you and I host in our beds. Dead. But these are not afraid to show they died in a horrible way. Get them here.

Freaking Out New York

The marketing team behind the movie Chronicle flew three human shaped planes around NYC to make it look like real people were magically flying. Must have freaked the hell out of the people living there! But really looks great from the ground!

Polaboy - Don't Shake it!

Great idea, these blown up polaroids with LED's in the back. Art on your wall during the day and a nice soft light by night. They sell many images by many great photographers, but it's also possible to have your own polaroids turned into one. Or two. Or three on a row. Click here for more information.

Socket To Me!

Big frustration for a lot of travellers; so many sockets in so many countries. Reminds me of the whole VHS, Betamaxx, Video2000 situation in the 80's. That one was a big frustration to me, since it had no solution. But all these different sockets have one thing in common. They can be tackled by this handy little tool below. I remember we stole ours from our Slovenian friend David in Paris, back in 2001. And for that we thank him!

For the Happy Camper

There are several reasons why these tents by FieldCandy are awesome. The first reason is that these designs make it very easy to find back your own tent at a crowded festival. The second reason is that these tents would make the whole Occupy Movement look a lot happier. And maybe the bright colours will make your senses get distracted from the smelly people.

The third and most important reason is the fact that it's weird that no one ever thought of this idea before. FieldCandy did and gathered 20 designers to design their very simple tents and the results look amazing!
