Goodnight

2012 in Pictures

Here's my overview of 2012 in pictures. And a final post of the year wouldn't be complete without thanking my loyal followers, dear friends and occasional visitors for yet another beautiful year on Zephyr-Files! I'm not posting as much as I used to do, but I'm still here and will keep on blogging in 2013 as well.

Song of the Year 2012

It's the last day of the year and I haven't even picked my favourite song of 2012 yet! Is it the Scissor Sisters with Let's have a Kiki from their fantastic album The Magic Hour? Or will it be Will.I.Am and Britney with their anthem-like single Scream and Shout which is topping the hitlist here in The Netherlands?

Or am I mistaken and shouldn't I pick one based on taste? Should I look at the hard numbers and see what I played the most last year? In that case the choice will be simple. That will be Madonna's Love Spent sung live during her American part of the MDNA tour. My favourite song from the album was performed only once during her concerts in Europe and I am glad she decided to add it to the setlist halfway this tour.

Goodnight

Saturday Night

Hello. This is me. And my frown. On a Saturday night. The frown may be caused because I was concentrating on sitting still to make the shot as sharp as possible. Or it may have been the fact that I was pooping :)

The One by Dmitry Bocharov

End of the year, but just in time; one of the most sensual photoshoots I saw this year; The One, by Russian photographer DmitryBocharov. A beautiful guy, a hotelroom, a cigarette and a bath. That's all you need. Check out the complete set at Homotography.

Goodnight

Oi! Gpoy!

This is me. Captured with my new Hipstamatic lens and film which came with the Tintype SnapPak. Inspired by the old technique of tintype photography and using face detection it gives this very weird and classic vibe to portraits. And I hope to do some more portraits with it soon! Any volunteers?

Minatur - Philipp Sidler

I know what I want and I want it now! Culture Beat was so right when they came up with that line back in 1993! And it really made even more sense when I discovered this beautiful book by Philipp Sidler called Miniatur

Luckily this book has no connection to the very ugly Swissminiatur in Melide. No, this book uses tiltshift technology to capture one of the most beautiful countries in the world in Miniature.
