Hello. This is me. And my frown. On a Saturday night. The frown may be caused because I was concentrating on sitting still to make the shot as sharp as possible. Or it may have been the fact that I was pooping :)

Oi! Gpoy!
This is me. Captured with my new Hipstamatic lens and film which came with the Tintype SnapPak. Inspired by the old technique of tintype photography and using face detection it gives this very weird and classic vibe to portraits. And I hope to do some more portraits with it soon! Any volunteers?

Bal Masqué
As you may, or may not know, I don't do Christmas. Not making a big fuzz out of it, I just don't. But I joined Peter to his first big Christmas party at his current job and really had a great night! The theme was Bal Masqué, so we dressed up and hid our faces behind these simple silver masks.
I finally met the coworkers I heard so much about and never saw. And I saw them getting drunk and dance their asses off. As well as they saw me getting drunk and dance my ass off. I was glad the party was held in a hotel and we had a room there. That made my walk of shame really short.

First Snow - December 6th
Wham. Bam. Snow! Sinterklaas left the country last night and left a nice surprise this morning. A white blanket over our country! Sweet, I say as a guy having a day off. Fuck snow, the rest of my country says because they're all in traffic jams or in trains that stopped running.
Oh well, I'm just gonna enjoy it while it lasts. Maybe I'll curse the snow tomorrow as well when I travel to work by bike :)

Lievelingsbloem
Lievelingsbloem, or favourite flower, as the English speaking tend to say, is a Dutch campaign for flowers. A campaign that features hot guys inviting women to pick their favourite flower. But I'm a male. I love flowers. I love hot guys. So I degrade this campaign to the 1950's. When only women loved flowers and men bought flowers to the women they loved.
Coming soon to countries other than The Netherlands.

Being Ill Sucks!
I've been ill for some days now and I'm really fed up with it. I still blame Tumblr for it, because when I got a message from my ill sister over there last weekend I'm pretty sure she infected me. Can't wait to go back to work soon.

38
Today is the day I turn 38. Last night, when the clock stroke 12, I got really spoiled by Peter and boy do I smell good now!
I prepared treats for work. Made beautiful eatable necklaces with a lot of candy and toys. But since I cannot give these virtually to my beloved visitors, I came up with something special for you: this new set of Hipstamatic Gratuitous Pictures Of Myself. Enjoy!

Many Moons Ago
Many moons ago we looked like this and we got married and we made these keychains. Peter is still using this keychain, 12 years later. We look pretty much the same I think, except for my butt-ugly glasses. Good memories... and it holds his keys together.

Fall & Funghi
Afternoon off and fall... or autumn as the english say. Temperatures are warm, it's humid, so these are the ideal situations for mushrooms to pop. And the ideal situation for us to head for the forest. And yes, there were mushrooms (or funghi as the italians and cooks call them). But also beautifully coloured trees. And cows bulls. And we pet them. And one licked my hand. And we became friends and we now wanna have a cattle of cows on our balcony.... but we can't. Because our balcony is filled with plants.

You Don't Bring Me Flowers...
... anymore. Or did he? Yes he did. Peter did a lecture tonight and received this big autumny bouquet of flowers, which he brought home. Normally we have very cozy evenings facing each other across the table, but tonight all we see is this big explosion of red, orange, yellow and green. Hello Peter, are you there?

A Very Dutch Afternoon
Today we went to Elburg. One of those very Dutch villages that used to be on the coast, but are now located in the land since we stole so much of land from the former seas.
Villages like Elburg make us realize how beautiful our country is. It's not a museum, people live there, but time seems to have stopped 60 years ago. Not in a nostalgic way but in a very realistic way.
On the way back we stopped for Kroketten and Frikandellen in one of those wooden buildings down the roads through the woods. A very Dutch afternoon indeed.

Step Back in Time
After a very nice surprise party for my sister's birthday last night, it was time for us to step back in time today.
So we head to the Open Air Museum here in Arnhem and strolled around, enjoyed the sun, the beer and our national history. Dr. Zephyr's office was open on this Sunday, but he didn't look like he wanted company today.
One exhibition in the museum is about regular Dutch people who collect stuff. In the past I already focussed on the guy collecting barf bags from all over the world, but this collection of mooney-boxes is also a pleasure for the eyes.
At the end of the day we also enjoyed the gardens. Late in summer and still blooming and impressing. Mother Nature is so kind for us. We don't deserve that!
What we DID deserve however was a nice beer at the end of the day in the good company of my sister and brother in law, who finally decided to have breakfast and showers late in the afternoon. Another day well spent!

Dad's 65th Birthday
Dad turned 65 last August and like every year, we celebrated that fact with the whole family. But since it's dad's birthday, he got to chose the activity.
He got a nice hybrid bike last summer, so a biketrip was very suitable. We went to our big national park "De Hoge Veluwe" and biked our asses off. All sweaty except for the birthday boy.
Inside the national park is one of the better museums in The Netherlands. Kröller-Müller started as a private collection, but evolved into a very well situated collection of art open to the public. Whenever you come to The Netherlands I really urge you to visit this museum. Location, collection, it's all worth it.
We finished the day at a great asian restaurant. And oh man, did that first beer after the biketrip taste good! I didn't take that many pictures, so if you wanna see more, check out my sister's blog.
