Goodnight

Portraits by Neil Barrett

I love these portraits by photographer Neil Barrett featuring models Adrien Brunier, Alexander Jakob, André Bentzer, Clinton Weber, Eddie Klint, Felix Schopgens, Henry Watkins, Jacob Coupe, Jeremie Laheurte, Josh Beech, Luis Borges, Max Barreau, Nicholas Hinman, Patrick Meckelburg, Ramon Von Roon, Sid Ellisdon and Thomas Hoefnagels. Beautiful poses, great colours and nice to see so many fresh faces in these 5 collections (imagesource: The Fashionisto).

20 Years of Photoshop

This year Photoshop exists exactly 20 years. Hard to imagine what the world would look like without it. At least a bit more honest and less people commiting suicide because they can't live up to the fake standards of beauty.

Anyhow, complex.com compiled a list of their 50 favourite moments in Photoshop history. Feast your eyes on some beautiful, horrible and original Photoshop moments!

Been a long time since I posted work by one of my favourite photographers Jean Baptiste Mondino, apart from a few classic Madonna shots. This editorial called Nuit Blanche was published at Numéro Homme #19 and features models Adrien Pastor, Alexander Gaillot, Anton, Arthur Devalbray, Florian Bourdilla, Gerhard Freidl, Hugo Sauzay, Jeremie Laheurte, Mathias Billien, Peter Bruder, Philipp Bierbaum, Théodor, Tom Nicon, Tomek Szczukiecki and Viggo Jonasson. I Wear My Sunglasses at Night

New collaboration between Madonna and Dolce & Gabbana. MDG is a new special collection of sunglasses for women, designed by Madonna and Dolce & Gabbana.

The photoshoot by Steven Klein will be featured in the campaign, which will be out very soon and will carry on until February 2011. A TV ad might also be used (to be confirmed). Source: Absolutement Madonna, pictures by Mic.

I really like that first picture! Reminds me of the Who's That Girl area. And is that Jon Kortajarena as the male figure in these shots?

House Taken by 1300 Ants

"House Taken" is an original symbiosis between nature and art in the mind of Colombian artist Rafael Gómezbarros. All it takes is 1300 ants that seem to have no moral inhibitions to take over any important monument around, this time being the building of the National Congress of Colombia. The goal behind this project is to promote culture and open a debate about immigration, displacement and rootlessness.

The ants, like immigrants, are true hard workers but this does not mean that a great part of the society does not look at them like a big threat. It is exactly this kind of contradictions that House Taken tries to raise, in that special way that only art can do. The House Taken project (Casa Tomada in Spanish) began in 2007 in Colombia in monuments like the Victor Emmanuel Monument in Santa Marta (2008), the Customs House in Barranquilla (2009), Alonso Garcés Gallery in Bogota (2010) and the Congress of the Republic of Colombia (running till 26 of March). Rafael Gómezbarros uses various materials for his project, including fiberglass, resin, sand, coal, cords and branches. The installation varies according to the size of the building.
