Madonna's debut album was released twenty-five years ago today, on July 27, 1983 by Sire Records. "Madonna" was certified Gold by the RIIA on May 31, 1984. The album was certified 5x platinum on Oct 3, 2000, and is believed to have sold at least 10 million copies worldwide.
