I saw that one as well and I know that new version is more honest. Still I think Coca Cola did good not to change their logo so drastically. A company needs nerves to keep it that way.

Bowie and a brand are hardly the same thing. I think a classic logo can survive when it's strong enough. Compare Coca Cola with Pepsi in that first image... you can already see which brand is stronger.

But besides brands I like evolution and re-invention as well. It's a good thing, especially for artists.

I'm a Pepsi man, even though I can't drink dark pop (kidney stones). I'd KILL for a Pepsi right now. I rather like the changes in their logos. Coca Cola gives me heartburn anyway.
