Going South

We added an extra few days to our Easter weekend and this morning we got in the car and drove south. The very southern point of The Netherlands, an area we hardly ever visit and with the blue skies, the sun and the fantastic temperatures we had a very lovely day.

We started in Maastricht and ofcourse we finally visited the most beautiful bookstore here in The Netherlands, based in an old church. Stunning design and with a nice collection we filled a bag with books as well (Hello Mr. Sedaris!).

After Maastricht we continued our way east. Visited the American WW2 Memorial in Margraten and drove a beautiful drive through the hills ending at a castle near Valkenburg. Cows and castles... what a beautiful match!

Thanks for sharing the beautiful pictures! I looks like a lovely Easter holiday.

I hope that you enjoy David Sedaris' book. I attended a reading by him a few weeks ago and I do not remember the last time I laughed that hard. I highly recommend seeing him in person if possible. If not, his audiobooks are also wonderful!

Great photo's! Looking at the banners and signs in the bookstore, it probably is the local 'Selexys' store in Maastricht?

@Tonnya: I prayed to you the whole time I was there! All I could think was "this must be the way churches look all over the world if Tonnya was God!

@BustersDad: I really hope to hear him read in person some day, so far I just read his stories and watched a few of them being read by him online.

@rp: it's indeed Selexys. The most beautiful one in our country! Arnhem tried to do something similar in our old post office, but that one is a big fail.

I love the Selexyz there! And it's not the most beautiful in our country... but in the world! ;-)
