The Book about Swiss Cheese Makers began as an editorial project for a journalist friend. " I expected this to be an agricultural trip, meeting people who make a living through the production of cheese in a more or less industrial way, " Scheffold confesses. "But fare from it: I met unorthodox lateral thinkers, visionary fellows, modest canny and successful people living and working in some of the most spectacular landscapes of Switzerland. Some sell their products abroad, inventing a new cheese every other month, some work exactly as they have learned from their fathers, now sometimes just selling to hikers visiting their remote location by chance. But all of them seemed to follow an individual vision they are not willing to betray for growth and money". (source)
A beautiful new magazine has arrived from Spain. TICKETOHELL is a magazine about arts, beauty, eroticism and boy-art. The first issue has up to 100 pages filled with very original and eye-opening content. Below is a small selection of these pages and show the wide variation of shoots. Definately worth checking out at TICKETOHELL Magazine.
Well, a guy alone in bed all day long got to have something on the side when he is bored from watching television. So I downloaded this great little iPhone App which allows you to draw in a very simple way. Big fingers are no help, so don't expect miracles. Still, some are fun to show. So here's my collection of drawings I did over the last two days. Recognize anyone?
I really enjoy it, so I will dust off my paint and brushes soon and do some real painting again, which I haven't done in years.
57 years ago the barcode as we know it was invented (you probably were aware already if you used google today). It wasn't untill 1974 before it was used, so basically the barcode turned 35 today! I am only a few weeks younger than the barcode. I will turn 35 in november. Maybe that explains my fascination for the barcode. I used it a lot in my graphic designs and did a presentation about the barcode and how you can use it into design when I was studying.
I also wanted a barcode as a tattoo for years. But then I find out that a) it became a little tacky and b) I was told by a tattoo artist that it is one of the most difficult tattoos to do. Instead of the steady tattoo I bought myself a stamp-tattoo some years ago on the FAMOUS french night market in Piégros-la-Clastre.
Victor & Rolf presented their new collection for the spring/summer season 2010 in Paris this week. I don't blog about fashion a lot, so maybe it's my dutch pride, but I absolutely fell in love with these dresses!
I love, love, LOVE this spread in Wad Magazine. A thing we all have in common, apart from some girlie readers here. Waking up with morning wood. Great idea for a fashion spread! (imagesource: Charmants.com).
Yes! That makes me feel a lot better! Donnie is back! Famous Like Me has changed into Hip N Edgy, but the first post proves that a name-change does not mean a change of approach! Finally our mondays are good like they used to be! Welcome back Donnie!
