Honestly, for me this was easier than most of your other challenges, Daan. The first thing I thought of when I saw the expanse of desert next to a canal was Suez. A quick check of google maps and bingo!
Now #113, that was a whole other story. I had no clue where to start looking in that case.

That just had to be the Suez canal...
and lo and behold it's Port Taufiq at the southern end of the canal
