Powerlines

Powerlines. I was talking to Peter about them the other day. He finds them charming and I must admit I use them a lot in photography. But somehow they always look a bit outdated to me. There must be better ways to transport electricity.

Choi & Shine Architects came up with this idea. The lines are still there, but the pylons holding them are transferred into human-like sculptures. It resulted into these beautiful designs and also got them the 2010 Boston Society of Architects Unbuilt Architecture Award.
