Yesterday Dutch themepark De Efteling celebrated its 60th Birthday. As you may or may not know I love themeparks, but De Efteling is still my favourite park in the world. I guess it's normal. As a Dutch kid you grow up with this park.
The park was founded back in the 1950's as a natural park with a swimmingpool, apond with canoes and a beautifully created forest filled with fairytales. Based on the drawings by Dutch artist Anton Pieck, these fairytales came to life. Below you can see how the castle of Sleeping Beauty was designed as a drawing and then built. Beautiful!

To celebrate the 60th Birthday a new attraction was revealed last night. Aquanura is a fountain show like the ones in Las Vegas and Dubai. The largest in Europe and the 3rd largest in the world. Wit the adding of colour and music from the themepark itself, this must be a beautiful ending of a day at De Efteling. Have a look at the opening last night:
