She Needs Your Money

Since she didn't get paid for her Superbowl gig last Sunday, Madonna is in need of some money again. So she decided to announce her World Tour today with skyrising ticket-prices. Kicking off in Tel Aviv on May 29th she will tour Europe (Amsterdam on the 7th of July) and then continue to the USA and Canada in fall. Early 2013 she will also tour Australia and Latin America.

Her reply on the high ticket prices proves she's not living in this world at the moment:
"Start saving your pennies now. People spend $300 on crazy things all the time, things like handbags. So work all year, scrape the money together, and come to my show. I'm worth it."
I don't know about you, but I never spent $300 on a handbag. Or a pair of jeans. Amsterdam goes on sale this Saturday and we'll see about the prices. The Ziggo Dome where she will perform talks about prices from €49 up to €185. That's a lot of money to me! But I'm very much aware that the prices overseas are even higher...

In this economy in the US, $300+ tickets are insane and though it will almost certainly sell out, it is going to hurt a lot of people to cough up that money.

I can't think of anything that could happen in a concert that would convince me to pay up that much.

I notice she doesn't have the "O2 Center" in London. I guess they don't think she can sell out the place? Hell, Michael Jackson had soldout MANY nights before his death. ....and "I'm worth it." PLEEZE.
